Abstract
A controller () for a device () comprises an identifier obtaining module () arranged to obtain an identifier for a garment worn by a user. The controller () comprises a biometric module () arranged to use the identifier to obtain a biometric identity for the user wearing the identified garment and determine an operational mode for the device () from the biometric identity. A command generation module () is operable to generate a control command for controlling the device () based on the operational mode. The biometric module () may determine whether the user identified by the biometric identity is authorised to operate the device (). The control command may be generated based on this determination.
