Abstract
A method of treating a microbial infection in a patient is provided, including steps of administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a metal-1-(2-hydroxyphenylazo)-2-naphthol (HAZD) complex, wherein the metal is Fe(III), Ni(II), or Cu(II) and the metal is complexed with a 1-(2-hydroxyphenylazo)-2-naphthol (HAZD) ligand.
