Abstract

The present invention relates to a generator (G) for a substantially charge-balanced pulse for application onto at least one electrode pair () of a medical device, the generator comprising: a pulse-shaping output stage (POS) for coupling to the at least one electrode pair; an internal pulse generator for applying an internal pulse to the pulse-shaping output stage; wherein the pulse-shaping output stage comprises a transformer (T) and/or a capacitor system (CS) comprising at least one capacitor such that the internal pulse is transformed into a substantially charge-balanced pulse in the at least one electrode pair (I) when coupled to the pulse-shaping output stage (POS). Further aspects relate to a catheter, a system, a method.
