Abstract

A system () and method () for connecting a mobile device to a CVD of a known vehicle with an unknown connection protocol. The system () comprises a mobile device () for a vehicle (), a connected vehicle device () and a server (). The mobile device () is configured to select between an inquiry to the server () for a connection protocol, availability based on a detection of a broadcast SSID, or based on a locally determined best connection procedure.
