Abstract

A puff detection device () comprising a capacitive puff sensor (C), a detection signal generator () for connection with the puff sensor (C) and having an ESD diode (D) at an input node (IN), and a reference signal generator () which is configured to generate a train of reference pulses (CKI) having a reference frequency and comprises a reference capacitor (C). The reference signal generator () includes a compensation device (D) which is configured to provide a leakage current path at a charging node (IN) of the reference capacitor (C).
