Abstract

Adhesive tapes, especially for lengthwise jacketing of elongate items such as cable harnesses in motor vehicles and methods for producing and using said adhesive tapes are disclosed. Each adhesive tape comprises a carrier having a width Bbased on the cross direction and at least one layer of adhesive applied on a bottom side of the carrier, wherein the adhesive layer bearing a second carrier, which has a lower width Bthan the width Bof the first carrier. The first carrier with the adhesive layer protrudes two-sidedly relative to the side edges of the second carrier, where the first protrusion has a width of Band the second protrusion has a width of B. The first carrier is a woven fabric having a basis weight of 50 to 200 g/mand the second carrier is a textile carrier having a basis weight of 300 to 1000 g/m.
