Abstract

The invention relates to a wetting mechanismfor wetting a tubeof a catheter. The wetting mechanismincludes a housingto be positioned at or proximal to the tip endof the catheter tube, where the housingcomprises a holding chamberand a wetting chamber. The wetting mechanismcomprises a fluid release control componentfor controlling release of fluid within the holding chamberinto the wetting chamber. At least a portion of the catheter tubeis then able to be introduced and be moved through the wetting chamberto wet the catheter tube, in use.
