Abstract

The present invention addresses the problem of providing an angiogenesis promoter capable of exerting an excellent angiogenesis promoting effect without containing any growth factor. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a therapeutic method. An angiogenesis promoter that comprises as an active ingredient at least one member selected from the group consisting of a gelatin derivative represented by formula 1 and a crosslinked product of the gelatin derivative: In formula 1: Gltn represents a gelatin residue; L represents a single bond or a divalent linking group; and Rand Rindependently represent a hydrocarbon group having 1-20 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom, provided that at least one of Rand Rrepresents the aforesaid hydrocarbon group.
