Abstract
A sheet feed roller portion () feeds a plurality of bound sheets (S) to a conveying path (). The ultrasonic sensor () detects a voltage value that changes according to a thickness of the sheet (S) at a measurement position (P) on the conveying path (). A determination processing portion () determines whether or not a voltage difference between voltage values of the sheet (S) detected by the ultrasonic sensor () is equal to or greater than a preset threshold value. A light amount adjustment processing portion () adjusts a light amount of light emitted from a CIS sensor () and irradiated onto the sheet (S) when the determination processing portion () determines that the voltage difference is equal to or greater than the threshold value.
