Abstract
A convex ostomy appliance () may be configured to have a softness of about 32.6 N*mm to about 68.9 N*mm, wherein the softness is measured in energy expended to compress 3 mm of the convex portion, and a flexibility of about 105.2 N*mm to about 186.6 N*mm, wherein the flexibility is measured in energy expended to deform the ostomy appliance by 30%. The convex ostomy appliance may include a coupling flange (), a floating flange film () having one end secured to the coupling flange, a soft convex insert () having a recess () in which another end of the floating flange film is secured, an adhesive () extending over the soft convex insert, and a stoma opening () extending through at least the coupling flange, the floating flange film and the soft convex insert.
