Abstract
The present invention relates to a method to produce a sheet of a material containing alkaloids, the method comprising:—mixing particles of the material containing alkaloids, a binder, an aerosol former and water to form a slurry;—casting () the slurry to form a cast sheet;—drying () the cast sheet by means of a heated fluid;—recovering heat () from exhausts produced during drying;—recovering volatile substances from exhausts produced during drying; and—obtaining a flavor extract from the recovered volatile substances.
