Abstract
A power transmitting apparatus () derives data corresponding to a reference for power loss between the power transmitting apparatus () and a power receiving apparatus () on a basis of a value of reception power received from the power receiving apparatus; and performs a foreign object detection based on the data corresponding to the reference for power loss. The power transmitting apparatus () re-derives the data corresponding to the reference for power loss, when a change in the power transmission and reception state is detected in a power-transmittal range of the power transmitting apparatus ().
