A solid rocket propellant includes a hydroxyl-terminated polybudadiene (HTPB) binder system having a high molecular weight diol that is greater than thirty carbon atoms (>C) and less than fifty carbon atoms (<C) and excluding dimeryl diisocyanate (DDI).
