Abstract
An air turbine starter that includes a housing defining an interior having a primary air flow path. A rotatable turbine member located in the interior includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced blades that extend into the primary air flow path. A containment assembly couples to the housing and circumscribes at least a portion of the plurality of circumferentially spaced blades. The containment assembly includes a tube and a laminate.
