Abstract
A monitoring device () is provided at a building () in which an elevator () is provided and communicates with a center via an IP network (). The monitoring device () includes a communication unit () and a selecting unit (). The communication unit () can perform wireless communication in a plurality of communication modes. The selecting unit () selects a connection mode on the basis of a first evaluation value and a second evaluation value. The communication unit () transmits voice data and state data indicating a state of the elevator () to the center in the connection mode.
