The present invention is a composition intended for consumption by animals containing antimicrobials and anti-inflammatory agents, which may include ovotransferrin, chitosan, and. The composition may be provided as powder that is mixed into feeds, may be incorporated into pellets, or may be delivered through water, among other methods of dosage. The invention is intended as a health supplement for increased gain and improved general health in production animals affected by enteric diseases such as coccidiosis and as a general health supplement in humans and companion animals facing enteric diseases to maintain the gut microbiome.
