Abstract

A cutting tool includes a substrate and a coating film, including a first layer in which a first unit layer composed of TiAlBN, where 0.30≤a≤0.50, and 0<b≤0.10, and a second unit layer composed of TiAlN, where 0.70≤c≤1.00, are alternately layered and a second layer in which a third unit layer composed of TiAlBN, where 0.25≤d<0.45, 0<e≤0.10, and a fourth unit layer composed of TiAlBN, where 0.35≤f<0.55, 0<g≤0.10, are alternately layered, in the first layer, a percentage (T2/T1)×100 of the number T2 of atoms of titanium to a total T1 of the numbers of atoms of titanium and aluminum is 60% or more, a ratio I(200)/I(002) is 2 or more, and a half width of a peak originated from the (002) plane is 2 degrees or more.
