Abstract

The invention relates to a wetting mechanismfor wetting a tubeof a catheter. The wetting mechanismincludes a housingpositioned initially at or proximal to the tip endof the catheter tube. The housingcomprises a wetting chamberinto which at least a portion of the catheter tubeis able to be introduced and be moved therethrough to wet the catheter tubein use. The wetting mechanismincludes a wetting applicatorpositioned within the wetting chamberconfigured to hold fluid therein and release said fluid to wet the catheter tubeupon movement of the tubethrough the wetting chamber
