Abstract
A method of constructing a mass-customized orthopedic implant comprising: (a) identifying features, where the features comprise at least one of landmarks and shape features, across a statistical atlas population of bones that is at least one of ethnic specific and gender specific; (b) generating descriptors relevant to implant design using the identified features across the statistical atlas population of bones; (c) grouping at least some of the descriptors into a group having similar descriptors; (d) parameterizing the group to extract parameters from the group; and, (e) generating an electronic design file for a mass-customized orthopedic implant.
