Abstract
There is provided an aerosol generating article () comprising a combustible heat source () having an upstream portion and a downstream portion. The aerosol generating article further comprises an aerosol-forming substrate () downstream of the heat source () and a wrapper () circumscribing an upstream portion of the aerosol-forming substrate () and the downstream portion of the combustible heat source (). The aerosol generating article () further comprises a non-combustible coating () provided on the upstream portion of the combustible heat source () and not on the downstream portion of the combustible heat source (), the non-combustible coating having a thickness of between about 30 micrometres and about 250 micrometres.
