Abstract

This application provides a positioning method performed at a computer device. The method includes: obtaining an image photographed by an image capturing apparatus disposed at a roadside and a photographing orientation of the image; determining pixel coordinates in the image for a target object in the image; determining a relationship between the pixel coordinates corresponding to the photographing orientation and location coordinates in a physical world; and determining location coordinates of the target object in the physical world according to the relationship and the pixel coordinates. According to this application, location information of an object can be accurately determined according to a correspondence between pixel coordinates in an image and location coordinates in a physical world, and a transform relationship between pixel coordinates in different photographing orientations, and avoiding the problem that the target object cannot be positioned due to a blind area in a view field.
