Abstract

A lateral surface member structure () of a vehicle body () includes a tubular body () extending in a front-rear direction of the vehicle body () and an impact absorbing member () disposed inside the tubular body (). The impact absorbing member () includes a web () extending along the front-rear direction and flat in a vehicle width direction, a vehicle outer flange () joined to a vehicle outer end portion of the web () and extending along the front-rear direction, and a vehicle inner flange () joined to a vehicle inner end portion of the web () and extending along the front-rear direction. The vehicle outer flange () and the vehicle inner flange () each include a rib (R,R) disposed so as to sandwich the web () from above and below and extending along the front-rear direction.
