Abstract
The present invention provides a negative pressure generator such as a suction cup, the negative pressure generator comprising a negative pressure transmitter with a shape that remains constant after deformation so that no part of the negative pressure transmitter comes into contact with another member of the negative pressure generator. The negative pressure transmitter () includes an opening (), a closed bottom portion (), and an intermediate portion () connecting the opening to the bottom portion, wherein the intermediate portion includes at least a plurality of rigid portions () that are formed at predetermined intervals so as to inhibit deformation, and flexible portions () that are formed between the plurality of rigid portions and formed from a flexible material.
