Abstract

A vehicle airbag device and a method for manufacturing the same, in which stud bolts for securing the device to the vehicle body can be inserted avoiding the sewn sections, and in which unbalanced stresses are not generated in the panel parts during expansion and deployment. The device having a pair of panel parts, a pair of expansion parts integrally provided on the pair of panel parts, the expansion part of the first panel part overlapping the second panel part, and the expansion part of the second panel part overlapping the first panel part, forming an overlapping section by joining each expansion part to each panel part at a sewn section, and joining the overlapping section with a pair of panel part outer edges, the outer sewn section forming a hollow bag body, and providing inflator insertion holes and bolt insertion holes provided through the overlapping section.
