Abstract

An organic electroluminescence device includes: an anode; a cathode; a first emitting unit including a first emitting layer and a first hole transporting zone; a first charge generating layer; and a second emitting unit including a second emitting layer, in which the first emitting unit, the first charge generating layer, and the second emitting unit are provided between the anode and the cathode in this order from the anode, the first hole transporting zone is provided between the anode and the first emitting layer, the first emitting layer contains a compound represented by a formula (1) below, and a thickness dof the first hole transporting zone is 60 nm or less. In the formula (1): at least one of Rto Ris -L-Ar; Lto Lare each independently a single bond, an arylene group or the like; and Rto Rnot being -L-Arare each independently a hydrogen atom or the like.
