Abstract

A ventilator () with a control unit (). The control unit () controls the inhalation valve () and the exhalation valve () in order to raise an inhalation pressure level from a first pressure level to a predefined second pressure level and to maintain the inhalation pressure level for a first predefined time period and the control unit () controls the inhalation valve () and the exhalation valve () to raise the second pressure level to a predefined third pressure level and to maintain the third pressure level for a second predefined time period. The control unit () takes into consideration predefined values () for controlling the pressure levels and for controlling the time periods.
