Abstract

A method, performed by a first node (). The method is for handling access to a communications network () in a multi-hop deployment. The first node receives (), from a fourth node (), information. The information indicates a recommendation on which node within radio range to connect to, out of a plurality of candidate parent nodes (). The plurality comprises a first set () and a second set () of candidate parent nodes. A third node () is enabled to be a donor node in the first set (). A sixth node () is enabled to be a donor node in the second set (). The first node also determines (), out of the plurality, a second node () to establish a connection with. The determining () is based on the received information. The first node then initiates () establishment of a connection or re-connection to the network via the second node (), as first-hop.
