Abstract
A foil bearing () having at least one foil () which is arranged and fixed in place inside a bearing bore () of a bearing support (). The bearing support () is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and the surface of the bearing bore () is provided at least in one contact region () of the at least one foil () with a hard material layer (). The bearing support () can be produced in a simple and cost-effective manner, has a low weight and a good thermal conductivity.
