Abstract
A control unit transmits an initial value of a position ID to a cassette control unit at a top in a daisy chain by a serial line. Having received the position ID from the control unit or the cassette control unit of a previous stage in the daisy chain, the cassette control unit recognizes it as a position ID of its own cassette. Where there is a following cassette control unit in the daisy chain, the cassette control unit calculates a position ID of the following cassette control unit to transmit to the following cassette control unit.
