Abstract

A monitoring apparatus () stores address management information (t) which indicates address information of each of network devices and also indicates a connection to each of the network devices. A detection section () detects a failure of a router (R) with a notification from each of the network devices. An acquisition section () acquires information from each of the network devices to cope with the detected failure. A rewriting section () rewrites the address management information (t) such that a router (R) has a virtual IP address and a virtual MAC address set in a virtual router VR based on the acquired information.
