Abstract

A device () for emitting light to a beam-collimating lens (), and a method for producing a beam-collimating lens (). The device () comprises at least one laser light source () and a beam-collimating lens (), in particular for fast axis collimation. The beam-collimating lens () comprises at least one biconvex collimation element () and is produced from silica glass, preferably by a fiber drawing process. The laser light source () emits visible laser light, typically having in a wavelength in the range of 400-550 nm.
