Abstract
A system for distributing a stream of articles includes a belt assembly () with a plurality of belt segments () carrying a stream of articles (), a sensor assembly () with a plurality of sensors (), a control system () interfacing with the belt assembly () and the sensor assembly (), wherein the sensor assembly () determines spacing () in the stream of articles (), and wherein the control system () controls a speed of the plurality of belt segments () to minimize the spacing () in the stream of articles () when the spacing () is greater than a predefined threshold.
