Abstract

The disclosure relates to a promoter induced by fungal rust. More specifically, the promoter is induced by the pathogen, i.e. the Asian Soybean Rust. The disclosure further provides for recombinant genes comprising the promoter and methods of producing a transgenic plant that involves introducing or providing the recombinant gene to plant cells to create transgenic plant cells, and regenerating transgenic plants from the transgenic cells.
