Abstract

In a flow rate sensor, a resistance bridgedetects a change in a gas flow rate. A differential A/D converterconverts an analog signal output from the resistance bridgeinto a digital signal. A disconnection detection circuitdetects disconnection of bonding wiresthat connect the differential A/D converterand the resistance bridge. The disconnection detection unitincludes a detection capacitanceand a comparator. One connection portion of the detection capacitanceis connected to an input node of the A/D converter. The comparatordetects the disconnection of the bonding wiresbased on a potential based on a ratio of an electrostatic capacitance of a P-side input capacitanceor a N-side input capacitanceto an electrostatic capacitance of the detection capacitance. The P-side input capacitanceand the N-side input capacitancerespectively are connected to operation input units of the differential A/D converter
