Abstract

To provide a flow control valve seal that is manufactured at a low cost, that makes wear damage of a rotor with which the flow control valve seal slidably contacts less, and that is superior in its low leak performance, low friction performance, and low wear performance. A seal () is installed in a flow control valve device () including a housing () having an introduction part () that receives a cooling water from an internal combustion engine, and a resin rotor () disposed in the housing () and having a spherical outer peripheral surface (), the rotor () being rotated relative to the housing (). The seal () is disposed between the introduction part () and the rotor () in the housing () and slidably contacts with the outer peripheral surface () of the rotor (). The seal () is an injection molded body of a resin composition having injection-moldable fluororesin as a base resin. The fluororesin is at least one resin selected from among a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoro alkylvinyl ether copolymer resin, a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer resin, and a tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer resin.
