Abstract
A conveying path for a document (D) includes a first conveying path (R) that turns back midway, and a second conveying path (R) that does not turn back midway. When the first conveying path (R) is used, a first side is read and the document (D) is discharged with the first side facing downward. When the second conveying path (R) is used, a second side is read and the document (D) is discharged with the second side facing downward. When the second conveying path (R) is used, a warning message (MS) is displayed.
