Abstract
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method that enables easy manufacturing of silver nanowires which have an average diameter smaller than those obtained from methods in the related art and in which the proportion of large diameter silver nanowires is reduced. Provided is a method for manufacturing silver nanowires, in which the silver nanowires are obtained from a silver salt using the silver salt, a halide salt, and a growth control agent in a polyol, and at least one selected from the group consisting of α-angelica lactone, phthalide, and a compound represented by General Formula (1) below (in General Formula (1), Rand Reach represent an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, and Rrepresents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, or a acyloxy group having 2-6 carbon atoms) is further used as a furanone derivative (a).
