Abstract

Tetradentate platinum complexes comprising an imidazole/benzimidazole carbene having a structure of Formula I is disclosed. In Formula I, M is Pd or Pt. These platinum carbenes with the specific substituents disclosed herein are novel and provides phosphorescent emissive compounds that exhibit physical properties that can be tuned, such as sublimation temperature, emission color, and device stability.
