There is provided herein an incontinence diaper () which has rear lateral sections () of the incontinence diaper () which can be brought into overlapping arrangement with a front region () exterior, to which the lateral sections can then be removably adhered via respective closure means (). The rear lateral sections () have an elastic region (), and the extension (Q) of the rear lateral sections () comprises a proximal half () which adjoins the rear longitudinal edge () and a freely ending distal half () in the transverse direction (), and wherein, the respective elastic region () is arranged completely within the proximal half () and has a distance of maximally 30 mm from the rear longitudinal edge () in the transverse direction (), and each rear lateral section () is substantially non-stretchable in the entire distal half ().
