Provided is excretion detection system () including: toilet seat () that is openable; imaging unit () with which toilet seat () is provided; and information processor () that estimates at least one selected from the group consisting of (i) presence or absence of urine or feces, and (ii) a property of the urine or feces, by using imaging data of imaging unit (), excretion detection system () being configured not to capture an image using imaging unit () when toilet seat () opens.
