Abstract
According to an electrochromic element of the present disclosure, when maximum and minimum optical densities in a coloring region face when an inter-electrode distance is constant are ΔODand ΔOD, respectively, the electrodes distance d'=d+δd (d: an inter-electrode distance when the inter-electrode distance of a pair of electrodes is constant, δd: an inter-electrode distance correction amount) at a position providing ΔOD, and when an optimal inter-electrode distance correction amount Δdcalculated when an optical density difference between ΔODand ΔODis completely eliminated at the position providing ΔODis defined as equation: δd(ΔOD)=d×(ΔOD/ΔOD), δd at a position providing ΔODis smaller than or equal to the maximum value δdof δd(0<ΔOD<D) at 0<ΔOD<D and larger than or equal to δd(ΔOD=D) at ΔOD=D.
