Abstract
The present disclosure relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program capable of, when accepting hand-based operation inputs from a plurality of users, performing appropriate pairing of left and right hands for each user. An image of an operation surface from above is acquired, the operation surface being configured to accept a hand-based operation input from users, left and right hands of the users and arms corresponding to the respective hands are detected from the image, a base position of one of the arms is set as a benchmark position, a base position of the arm that is closest adjacent along a periphery of the operation surface is set as a reference position when the one of the arms is a left hand, and pairing of the hand of the arm at the benchmark position and the hand of the arm at the reference position is performed. The present disclosure can be applied to an information processing system.
