Abstract

An optical device (EPE) comprises a waveguide plate (SUB) comprising an in-coupling element (DOE), a first expander element (DOE), a second expander element (DOE) and an out-coupling element (DOE), wherein the out-coupling element (DOE) is arranged to form combined output light (OUT) by combining the first output light (OB) with the second output light (OB), wherein the in-coupling element (DOE) has a first grating period (d) for forming the first guided light (B), and wherein the in-coupling element (DOE) has a second different grating period (d) for forming the second guided light (B), wherein the optical device (EPE) comprises a first spectral filter region (C) to prevent coupling of red light from the in-coupling element (DOE) to the out-coupling element (DOE) via the first expander element (DOE). The optical device (EPE) can display a color image with an extended field of view.
