Abstract
Hot rolling stock () made of metal which is rolled in at least one roll stand () and then cooled in a cooling section () arranged downstream of the at least one roll stand (). Sound generated by means of a sound generator arrangement () is coupled into the rolling stock () by a coupling device () so that a standing sound wave is formed at least in the region of the rolling stock () which is located in the vicinity of the coupling device ().
