Abstract
A foot switch () for use with a medical device () comprises an interface () for a communications link between the foot switch () and a control unit () of the device () and comprises at least one pedal () for operating the foot switch () using a foot. An operation sensor () captures an operation of the foot switch () for switching a function of the medical device (). The control unit () assigns the function to the pedal () via the interface () and the assigned function is displayed on the foot switch () by a multicolor LED ().
