A filter assemblyfor separating contaminants from a fluid stream is described. The filter assemblycomprises a filter elementwhich is locatable within chamberin a flow path extending between inletand outlet. The filter elementcomprises a filter media component, and the filter element is locatable within the chamberin the flow path so that fluid flowing from the inletto the outletis directed through the filter media component.
