Abstract

The present invention provides a method () for determining at least one parameter related to the microcirculation function of a person, said method comprising the steps of a) determining () an arrival time (AT) of a pulse wave, wherein the AT is the time between the onset of an activity of the heart producing said pulse wave and the arrival of said pulse wave in a part of the body of said person; b) varying () an applied pressure (P) on said part of the body over time and determining said AT as a function of applied pressure and time; and c) assessing () said at least one parameter related to the microcirculation function based on said determination of AT and said AT as a function of applied pressure and time in steps a) and b). The present invention further provides a system () for determining at least one parameter.
