Abstract

A framework cooler () for cooling a steel strip (), installed in a roller framework (), in place of the work rolls () and their associated installation pieces (and). The framework cooler () is sized to be installed into the roller framework () through the operator-side roller stands () of the roller framework (). The cooler () includes a lower () and an upper water tank (), each having a connection () for a coolant, and includes a plurality of cooling nozzles (), or cooling tubes () arranged in the depth direction (T) of the framework cooler () or at least one cooling slot () extending in the depth direction (T). The bottom and top sides of the steel strip () may be cooled.
