Abstract

Included are: a video data acquiring unit configured to acquire video data acquired by a plurality of image capturing units that capture images of surroundings of a vehicle; an event detector configured to detect an event concerning the vehicle; a parking detector configured to detect whether the vehicle is in a parked state; an object detector configured to detect a surrounding object present at a distance less than a certain distance from the vehicle while the vehicle is parked, and a recording function controller configured to, when the object detector detects a surrounding object present at a distance less than the certain distance from the vehicle while the vehicle is parked, perform recording due to the event detected by the event detector, using video data captured by a camera.
