Abstract

A method is provided for operating a motor vehicle () having a headlight () with a projection module (). The projection module () is moved into a projection position by a motor () to regulate a beam width of the headlight (). The motor () is controlled to move the projection module () into the projection position and to reach a motor setpoint value. The motor setpoint value is stored in a non-volatile memory () of the headlight () and, when a voltage supply to the headlight () is activated following deactivation of the voltage supply, the projection module () is moved, starting from the stored motor setpoint value, into a leaving-home position so as to illuminate an environment adjacent to the motor vehicle (). A headlight () and a motor vehicle () also are provided.
